DESCRIPTION
This is our favorite marinade for salmon since the flavors all pair so while not being over-powering.
I am in the habit of cooking salmon in the air-fryer. However, this can easily be baked in the oven instead.
INGREDIENT DETAILS
- Salmon — I like to get fresh salmon fillets for this recipe but have used thawed frozen fillets with decent results.
- Olive Oil — I use a mild-tasting olive oil for this recipe.
- Soy Sauce — Adds plenty of saltiness to this recipe. So, no table salt is necessary.
- Lemon Juice — Out of convenience, I often use bottled lemon juice. However, fresh lemon juice is always preferred since it will brighten the flavors even more.
- Seasonings — 1/8 tsp. garlic powder, 1/8 tsp. ginger powder, and 1/2 tsp. of dried mustard are combined to complete this marinade. I prefer to use the powdered form of these seasonings since they will be more easily dispersed throughout the marinade.
PREPARATION
PREPARE MARINADE
In a medium-sized bowl or a zip-lock bag, I combine 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/8 cup soy sauce, 1/8 cup lemon juice, 1/8 tsp garlic powder, 1/8 tsp ginger powder, and 1/2 tsp dried mustard for the marinade.
I let the salmon marinade for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
AIR-FRY SALMON
At least ten minutes beforehand, pre-heat the air-fryer at 400∘ F. For a typical 1 ⅟2 inch thick fillet, I air-fry the salmon for about 20 minutes total, carefully flipping the fillet half-way through the cooking process.
Air Fryer Lemon and Garlic Salmon
This is my go-to salmon marinade. In my opinion, this flavor combination perfectly complements salmon. It is slightly zippy with lemon and garlic without being over-powering.
